Submission: “Yes, “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” was probably just a competition piece. No, that doesn’t stop me from seeing it as a St. Berry song. Yes, I blame the Jesse scene earlier in the episode.”
I actually still don’t get the plot value it was INTENDED to have, because the song certainly has less than nothing to do with Finchel, and the writers seem to hate St. Berry with a passion.
If the only reason it was there was for Rachel to look good, doing My Heart Will Go On would’ve been a pretty good callback to her frequent insistence in earlier seasons to perform it.
^ IDK, LLM. There seemed to be a huge amount of St. Berry fanservice in that ep. We’ve been complaining about closure or leaving it open or seeing Jesse as the good guy, and they finally did it, and used it to get Rachel into NYADA despite her harassment of Miss Tibideaux. Jesse’s look during that song was probably there for the St. Berry fandom. It wasn’t badly done, any of it, but it still annoys the crap out of me that nothing will come of this. Because it was only put in to try and silence/appease St. Berry fans.
