Why does everyone think Quartie is going to happen? Just because Quinn and Artie are next to one another in wheelchairs? I mean, if your friend of 3 years is suddenly in a wheelchair, even just for a broken leg or something, and you’ve been in one for ten years, I’d imagine you’d show her the ropes of getting around without necessarily meaning you’re going to start boning…but maybe that’s just me…
Since you decided to come to the Quartie tag to ask:
- The writers have been known to pull weird and slightly offensive crap to get couples together.
- Quinn and Artie actually have a lot in common.
- Quinn and Artie both know what it’s like to be bullied by people who don’t understand, and probably never will understand, the situations they’ve been in.
- Artie is always chasing the loves he’s lost, and Quinn’s major plotlines throughout two of the seasons have been her dealing with losing her first love.
- They can have deep, intellectual conversations about things that actually matter like the state of the country, or feminism, or ableism, while still having fun and doing things like rolling at skate parks.
- Most of the people who actually have any hope that Quartie is going to happen have shipped Quartie for awhile and have noticed the little things between them that are so incredibly frustrating because they never get even any friendship screen time. Like:
- Quinn silently comforted Artie in “Dream a Little Dream of Me.”
- Artie picked Quinn’s name out of the hat in Ballad, and they are the only pair that has not had a friendship/relationship explored in any way, shape or form that had picked the names, though it is obvious they would have had to spend time together for the project.
- Artie was the only one who said that he’d tried to find anyone who knew where Quinn was during the summer, and he missed her.
- Quinn has a freaking huge picture of him smack dab in her locker right next to Beth.
- Now, knowing all of these things and reasons that Quartie shippers ship them, combined with the fact that the writers usually pull lazy things like this to get couples together, you’re surprised that people are making predictions they may actually get together?
